I think, as we get older and more accustomed to being independent, out to explore and define ourselves, the more we realize that decisions and discovery really take a blow at the spontaneous people we once were. Nope, that’s not okay.
What has made me come to terms with this? Well it isn’t hard to take a stroll through Berlin and ignore the fact that playgrounds have plagued the city. I’m not kidding when I say that every time I pass one I get a heavy pang of jealousy – man those kids are living the life. I mean, the Germans have really outdone themselves with some of those structures. What I’m trying to say is, once in a while, it may be worth leaving those cozy mahogany Spätkauf seats. Ride the zip-line, revisit your kid-self; maybe it’ll bring awareness to a forgotten part of yourself.
I sound like a fortune cookie.
