Over four years ago, Marcus released a post on FindingBerlin about how the Berliner club doors looked by daylight. The post became one of our biggest at the time, and people started playing the game of “guess the door”.
What it became to me, though: a list of clubs that were slowly disappearing.
Now, in 2015, not only have some of these clubs been long gone, but after my little club inventory tour of 2015 I realized that many, many more have also been added to the routine. Some of which I haven’t even visited yet and most likely never will. But I was itching to update the list, and so I did. The result? There’s still a lot left to Berlin, except it’s — judging by the clubs — a little less Techno. I also underestimated how many clubs Marcus forgot to depict at the time. Well — here’s to a little more nightlife in Berlin.

What’s left of Berlin legacy Bar25, still truly missed.
It is absolutely fascinating to consider that behind those doors, one of Berlins most essential traits — partying — sparks up every night. Behind each of those doors, an individual community arises to celebrate whatever there is to celebrate. During the day, the rest of the city is shut out. But at nights, we spill over on the sidewalks, inhabit the trains, sing along on rooftops and balconies.Day & Night 2011
I left the original posting as it is, because I truly believe it’s a historical document (that said, I also believe my letters from 3rd grade are historical documents, but whatever), but I substituted some of the Clubs we already had because they changed the entrance so much, and of course, I added the new ones and the old ones below.
The ones that are closed now will have a caption saying so and are all carefully lined up at the end.
Other than that, you’re as always left to guess the rest (there are at least two or three clubs that I have not yet included but that will be added in the near future. Guess which ones? One is new, one is pretty secret and one I don’t know if it still exists. Now that I think about it, there are actually even more).
